This contract required that I work with the CAD personnel and engineering staff to create a set of requirements for creation of styles and preferences in InRoads that allow for many tasks to be done by the software and greatly simplify the drafting and design process. I also created a custom routine to read an ASCII file and create topographic feature notes in a Drawing
Recruited by Veritis to work for Wells Fargo developing an automated routine to convert a very large drawing base to a format which would work with Serraview. This assignment involved a large amount of computational geometry and was programmed in c#.net. I also served as an advisor on ways to reduce or eliminate custom code from the upgraded Triregga document management System.
Worked on various small to medium sized projects including the upgrading of an arx (the arx platform is Civil 3D's C++ API) based program to conform to Autodesk's Unicode requirements. This program was a general purpose toolkit for surveyors used to process field data to surface models and line work and the work involved combing through the 15,000 lines of code to find all non-conforming statements. I also wrote the AutoLISP side of a program to create a 3D model of camera gantries along with several other add-ons in both VB.net and C#.
Provided technical support to meet defined SLA's for Lilly's Enterprise Engineer based document management system. My responsibilities included working trouble tickets, maintaining the integrity of the data through Documentum, maintaining and providing enhancements to the existing code base, and serve as an SME for the testing phase of the upgrade from EDMS 3.0 to 3.1.
As part of my responsibilities I wrote VBA code to aid in processing survey data, modified and created InRoads styles and preferences for the needs of the surveying department. Some of the projects I participated in include the "Accelerate 465" project on the west side of Indianapolis, The Railrunner commuter rail line between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the I-405 HOV lanes project in Los Angeles.
Wrote VBA code to automate description writing and drawing production. This program would take a figure drawn in Land Desktop and translate it into a first draft Surveyor's description. Wrote additional routines in Word and Excel to complete the production of a finished description which would require very little additional editing to be a finished product.
